Wisconsin High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams – Oct. 20
There’s a new team on top of the Wisconsin On3 Massey Ratings Top 25 list as of Oct. 20. Likewise, another team entered the top ten after the latest round of Wisconsin high school football games. With the playoffs just around the corner, here’s how the newest state rankings fall.
The On3 Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

1. Marquette University
The Hilltoppers climbed to the top after clinching an impressive road victory over Mukwonago. It was a come-from-behind win for Marquette as Mason Steinhoff’s fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Jude Ballinger resulted in their eighth consecutive triumph. Steinhoff had 254 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Bellinger had 49 receiving yards and two scores.
Marquette also got massive contributions from Jack Dorley (113 rushing yards, one touchdown) and Cal Ferber (132 receiving yards, one touchdown). The Hilltoppers will proceed to the first round of the WIAA high school football Division 1 tournament, facing Milwaukee Marshall on the 25th.
2. Kimberly
The Papermakers closed the 2024 Wisconsin high school football regular season with a 10-9 victory over Appleton North. Marcus Doucette scored Kimberly’s only touchdown, while Maddux Hermus contributed an extra point and a 29-yard field goal to settle their final score.
On defense, Connor Olson and Trent Dunk each had an interception. Kimberly heads into the playoffs with a 7-1 record. Coincidentally, on Oct. 25, they will host the same team they defeated (Appleton North) in the first round of the 2024 WIAA Division 1 playoffs.
3. Mukwonago
Last week, the Indians were Wisconsin’s top high school football team. However, they fell to number three after their loss to Marquette. Despite the defeat, Mason Kelley deserves credit for completing two touchdown passes and rushing for another score. Meanwhile, Mason Radobicky had 107 yards and a touchdown, while Colton Lynch had 157 rushing yards on 25 carries.
Nick Martin made his presence felt, tallying 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mukwonago finished the regular season with a 7-2 record and will proceed to the first round of the Division 1 playoffs against Janesville Craig on the 25th.
4. New Richmond
The Tigers imposed their will over Superior 49-21. Nick Stellrecht had 11 completions for 251 passing yards and four touchdowns, while Joe Hoeppner had 16 carries for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Aiden Eckert caught all of Stellrecht’s touchdown passes and finished with 164 receiving yards.
After finishing the regular season with an undefeated 9-0 record, New Richmond will face Marshfield in the first round of the 2024 WIAA Division 1 football tournament on the 25th.
5. Franklin
The Sabers completed an undefeated regular season by dominating Racine Horlick 42-21. Joey Kallay navigated Franklin’s offense with 216 passing yards and five touchdowns. Carter Schiek and Caden Kostowicz had two receiving touchdowns each, while Robert Beglinger had 53 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, their defense tallied 93 tackles and two sacks. The Sabers will face Fond Du Lac in the first round of the 2024 Wisconsin high school football Division 1 playoffs.
6. Arrowhead
The Warhawks closed the regular season with a 38-17 victory over Kettle Moraine at home. Vance Holtz had four passing touchdowns and added one rushing score. Pres Bencz had 93 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Sam Schneider and Ryan Heiman had two catching touchdowns each.
Meanwhile, the Arrowhead defense swarmed Kettle Moraine, finishing with 71 tackles, six sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. The Warhawks will enter the WIAA football tournament with a 7-2 record and face Sussex Hamilton on the 25th.
7. Oconomowoc
The Racoons finished their regular season with two consecutive victories, wherein they surrendered only seven points. They’ve shut down Pewaukee 21-0, thanks mainly to Austin Munzel’s three passing touchdowns and Alex Seraphine’s 157 passing yards.
On the other side of the ball, the Oconomowoc defense registered 58 tackles, five sacks, and a forced fumble against the Pirates. On deck for the Racoons is their WIAA Division 1 playoff matchup versus Racine Case on the 25th.
8. Waunakee
The Warriors clinched their seventh consecutive victory by dominating Milton 38-10. Vance Johnson completed 210 passing yards and three touchdown throws, while Sullivan Scadden contributed 137 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Kaden MacKenzie was a bright spot in Waunakee’s passing game, adding 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns. After finishing the regular season with an 8-1 record, the Warriors will proceed to the WIAA Division 1 playoffs, facing Wausau West on Oct. 25.
9. Neenah
The Rockets launched 43 points against Hortonville, their second-highest output this season. Grant Dean and Evan Vanevenhoven went berserk, combining for 232 rushing yards and five touchdowns. After completing the regular season with a 7-2 mark, they will face Hamilton in the first round of the 2024 Wisconsin high school football playoffs.
10. Slinger
The Owls completed a perfect regular season with a 45-7 road victory over the Cedarburg Bulldogs. Kobe Hendricks, Michael Thiede, and Santos Rodriguez powered Slinger’s running game, combining for 220 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, Rodriguez added a receiving touchdown and another six points off a kickoff return TD.
Meanwhile, Slinger’s defense had 62 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions against Cedarburg. The Owls will start the WIAA Division 1 football tournament by hosting Brookfield Central on the 25th.
