Where Notre Dame football ranks in Week 5 Associated Press Poll after beating Miami (Ohio)

Where Notre Dame football ranks in Week 5 Associated Press Poll after beating Miami (Ohio)

When you win college football games in ugly fashion, odds are you can get rewarded in the polls much more handsomely than the way you’re received by your own fan base on social media and message boards. That was the case for Notre Dame this weekend.

The Fighting Irish didn’t pass the eye test for their fans in an often lackadaisical 28-3 victory over Miami (Ohio), but they received a boost in the rankings for the 25-point win. Notre Dame moved up to No. 14 in the Coaches Poll and No. 16 in the Associated Press Poll. Head coach Marcus Freeman‘s team was previously No. 18 in the former and No. 17 in the latter.

Blue & Gold will update this story with both polls soon.
