Where do Penn State’s 2025 commits now rank in updated On300?
We’re only a handful of games into the 2024 high school season, but that, combined with some late information from camps in July, was enough for On3 to update its Class of 2025 rankings on Monday.
However, there’s not a whole lot that has changed for Penn State’s top players. Coming into today’s update, the Nittany Lions had eight players within the On300. Not only does that number remain the same, but the order of how those players rank within Penn State’s class hasn’t changed.
Linebacker Alex Tatsch remains the top-ranked player in the class at No. 85 nationally. That’s down just four spots from No. 81 prior. The Greater Latrobe prospect is the sixth-ranked linebacker in the nation, according to On3, and remains at No. 3 overall in Pennsylvania.
Tatsch remains the only Top 100 prospect in the class, but both offensive lineman Malachi Goodman and running back Jabree Wallace-Coleman remain in that 101 to 200 range. In fact, neither moved at all in the most recent update, with Goodman holding firm at No. 107 nationally and Wallace-Coleman still ranked No. 154.

But Penn State did have one player drop into that final third of the list, as Erasmus Hall wide receiver Lyrick Samuel moved down just over 20 spots from No. 181 to No. 206. The 6-foot-4, 175-pound receiver from New York is now the 31st-ranked receiver in the country, which is down a few spots from No. 28 previously.
The Nittany Lions have four more prospects ranked from No. 219 to No. 264, beginning with offensive Owen Aliciene. At 6-foot-8, 260 pounds, the Avon Old Farms offensive tackle posted some very impressive testing numbers this past summer. That’s a major reason why he’s ranked much higher at On3 compared to other sites.
The only other notable drop in the rankings was tight end Matt Henderson falling 26 spots to No. 244 nationally. That move dropped him from the nation’s 12th-ranked tight end down to No. 15. Penn State’s final two On300 prospects, cornerback Jahmir Joseph, from St. Joseph’s Regional in New Jersey, and edge rusher Jayden Woods, from Mill Valley in Kansas, didn’t move at all. Joseph remains at No. 253 overall, while Woods is now ranked No. 264.
