Tuttle committed 2 of the offense’s 3 turnovers, Loveland was the team’s leading receiver and Mullings had a productive day, but the Michigan head coach was not happy with the way the offense played.
“Just overall, offensively it was not good enough, at all,” Moore said. “Disappointing in a lot of areas. Jack can’t turn the ball over. Got to get the guys that when they’re open, we’ve got to complete those passes. Just got to be better.
“I thought Colston played well. He made some plays. Thought Kalel played well, ran hard. But yeah, three turnovers in a Big Ten game, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing, you’re not going to win. Just got to be better on offense.
“I think we just have to reevaluate and see and look. We had a bye week. I feel disappointed in myself as the head coach, that we didn’t come out and execute at a better level. There are too many bits and pieces, not enough consistency, so I have to look at myself, too. There’s no finger pointing. I’m going to reevaluate myself and see what I need to do to be better for them … for the players and the coaches, as well.”
Moore was asked if Michigan will reopen the quarterback competition. The Wolverines have already started three different players at the position this season.
“Yeah, I mean … you can’t turn the ball over,” Moore said. “You don’t want to go to four quarterbacks. You don’t want to have to go through this process. But you’ve got to have a guy who is going to take care of the football. So, we’re going go see what we’ve got to do, and we’ll have that conversation as we go.
“Yeah, I mean I have extremely high expectations for this program. Going on year 7, I’ve seen where we’ve been, what we’ve done. And this is not indicative of who we are and what we should be. It’s my job to fix it, and we will.
“We’ll just see. We’ll see how the week goes. We’ve just got to take care of the football, so we’ll figure that out when we get back to Ann Arbor.”
