It didn’t take long for the students to take the field after Vanderbilt stunned No. 1 Alabama on Saturday. They quickly went for the goalposts – and it became clear they were heading to Broadway.

That was, in fact, the destination. The goalposts officially arrived on Broadway amid the celebration, more than a half hour after Vanderbilt put the finishing touches on the upset of the season to this point.

Vanderbilt put together a complete performance to get the victory, which came one week after Alabama held on to defeat Georgia in Tuscaloosa. It marked the Commodores’ first win over the Crimson Tide since 1984, meaning it was a celebration 40 years in the making.

“It’s literally all God’s timing,” Pavia said. “Literally, from the jump. God gave me a vision when I was a little kid. And He don’t let back any promises. It’s God’s timeline. I’m super thankful. Super thankful for guys like Eli Stowers. Man, that kid’s are incredible. The rest of our team. I mean, look at this. Look at this. Vandy, we’re fucking turnt!”
