  • OL–Grayson Morgan–Out
  • S–CJ Taylor–Out (1st half)
  • TE–Eli Stowers–Probable

Missouri

  • S–Joseph Charleston–Probable

Vanderbilt cost this game the chance of being one between undefeated, 3-0 teams in the SEC. It looked likely too after they upset Virginia Tech in overtime in their opener and then put up a 55-0 shutout against Alcorn State the week after. However, they went to Georgia State and took a 36-32 loss. They tried to cut into what was as much as a dozen-point deficit in the fourth quarter but they still took the four-point defeat to the opponent out of the Sun Belt.

Missouri also got tested last week at home in what ended up being a Top-25 matchup against Boston College. The Eagles led by as much as 11 in the second quarter before the Tigers scored 13 unanswered in the final five minutes of the half to take a two-point lead to the break that they’d never give back as they extended it to as much as 13 in the 27-21 win over BC. That left Mizzou, the seventh-ranked team in the country, still unblemished after they shut out both Murray State and Buffalo to start.

Since becoming league opponents, Missouri is 9-3 against Vanderbilt, including 5-1 in Columbia. The Tigers have won four straight in every meeting this decade. They’ve also taken seven of the last eight going back to 2016.

Both of these teams will want to add another to their win column, especially with this one starting off their records in the Southeastern Conference. It’s now just a matter of which of these players’ absences will be felt or who can make an impact in them playing tomorrow.
