Following a rough loss to Texas in Week 2, Sherrone Moore kept it simple. Michigan will have to bring it when it comes to USC.

“Yeah, I think the big thing is just everybody doing their job – players, coaches,” Moore said. “We all got to be better together.

“That was the message to everybody after the game. You know, we’re not going to point fingers and say it was this person, this person. Collectively, we’ve got to be better as a whole group, whole unit – offense, defense, special teams.”

Michigan might actually have to worry about the USC defense this season. Head coach Lincoln Riley loves the new-look unit.

“My expectations were pretty high,” Riley said. “They were pretty high. They’ve done a good job. Like I’ve told y’all, I knew the quality of the individuals, but how well do they come together? Both them and the players, everybody together, it’s still the power of the unit, not the power of the individuals and that’s been so far so good.”

One major change that Lincoln Riley made was hiring D’Anton Lynn as the team’s new defensive coordinator. He replaced long-time Riley assistant, Alex Grinch. On top of that, Riley also brought in former North Dakota State head coach Matt Entz as the team’s linebackers coach.
