USC 5-star QB commit Julian Lewis set to visit Trojans later this month

USC 5-star QB commit Julian Lewis set to visit Trojans later this month

There’s been no shortage of questions and rumors surrounding the recruitment of five-star Carrollton (Ga.) quarterback and USC commit Julian Lewis over the last five to six months.

Multiple other schools have tried to flip him from the Trojans, who have held his commitment for more than a year now. First it was Auburn, then Colorado, then Indiana. Each of those schools hosted him for official visits, but Lewis has remained pledged to USC the whole time.

Now, for the first time since his official visit in early June, Lewis will be back at USC next weekend for their Big Ten home opener against Wisconsin.

Lewis hasn’t been on any campuses since his June 21 official visit to Colorado, and at that point most of the buzz in his recruitment surrounded the Buffaloes.

But as On3’s Steve Wiltfong has reported, there’s been plenty of confidence that Lewis will stick with the Trojans around the USC program.

“The intel favors the long-time USC commit sticking with the Trojans and WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader reports that the coveted passer will be back for the Wisconsin game,” Wiltfong wrote earlier this week. “The Lewis camp continues to have communication with other programs including Auburn, Colorado and Indiana. The Hoosiers will try and get him back to Bloomington for the Michigan game.”

Lewis continues to put up video-game numbers

The 6-foot, 185-pounder was originally pledged to the Trojans’ 2026 class, but opted to reclassify up a year. He’s long been one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the country regardless of class, and through his first two seasons of high school football, Lewis threw for more than 7,000 yards and 96 touchdowns.

Through three games this season, he has completed 79 percent of his passes while throwing for more than 1,200 yards and 20 touchdowns to only two interceptions.

Lewis is the No. 24 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 5 quarterback and No. 4 recruit in Georgia.
