Kiyan Anthony, one of the top shooting guards in the 2025 class, has narrowed his list of schools down to three, he told On3. Moving forward, the 6-foot-5 senior out of Long Island Lutheran (NY) will consider Auburn, Syracuse, and USC.

Kiyan, the son of of Carmelo Anthony — a former NCAA champion at Syracuse, 10-time NBA All-Star, and 2013 NBA scoring champion — previously considered offers from Florida State, Ohio State, and Rutgers.

To this point, the four-star prospect has taken official visits to Syracuse and USC.

According to On3’s Top-150 Player Rankings, Kiyan Anthony is the No. 30 overall prospect in the class. He’s also the No. 8 shooting guard and the No. 1 player in New York.

In previous interviews with On3, Kiyan Anthony broke down the schools involved.

Syracuse: “Syracuse has a young core on the team now. And I learned a lot about the coaches and their vision. They’re very together, I mean they’re still trying to figure everything out. The team is switching to Coach (Adrian) Autry’s identity, switching from the zone to man to man. They’re still recruiting hard, trying to put together the 2024 and the 2025 classes. When I speak with the coaches, they let me know the vision. The type of players they’re recruiting and who all they think will be around. I liked all the stuff I heard from them.”

Auburn: “They haven’t offered me yet. I’m still learning about them. Coach (Ira) Bowman reaches out to me every other day. He checks on me and a few of my close friends are over there, Tahaad (Pettiford) and Jahki (Howard) and they tell me about it. I’m looking forward to them throwing the offer so I can go take the visit.”

USC: “Coach (Eric) Musselman reached out to me a couple days ago when I was in Vegas. He definitely shows a lot of love. Also coach (Quincy) Pondexter, who played against my dad in the league. He shows a lot of love to me.”

What he’s looking for in a school

“I’m looking for good coaching, and I want to play for a good team,” Anthony said in a previous interview. “I want to win. I feel like all the schools that I am talking to have a winning culture. I’ll want to go somewhere that is family-oriented too. 

“Fast-paced, an offense that spreads the floor and keys in on versatility and guard play.”

According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, Kiyan Anthony is one of the top-10 pure bucket-getters in the 2025 class:

“Kiyan Anthony is the son of the No. 9 all-time scorer in NBA history, Carmelo Anthony. So naturally, the 6-foot-5 guard is going to have a spotlight on him. Anthony’s path has been unique to this point. He has come along at his own pace, coming off the bench at Long Island (NY) Lutheran and playing at his age group through his travel ball experience. Each year you also see progression in Anthony’s game. This summer, for me, it was the confidence that Anthony played with. As he continues to get stronger and while he still needs to clean up some things with his footwork and balance, Anthony manufactured clean looks. He led the NBPA Top 100 Camp in scoring this year and he averaged 20.2 points in EYBL play. Now that he has shown he can score, it is about getting to reps to learn how to score. On3 remains higher than the industry on Anthony as he could be right on the verge of a jump.”
