This massive TV folds up like something out of ‘Transformers’ — and costs as much as a sports car
C Seed showed off its latest foldable TV at CES 2024.

  • A luxurious foldable TV from C Seed costs $283,000.
  • The display folds up at multiple points when not in use to better blend into a living room.
  • The exclusive and pricey TVs debuted at CES 2024.

For the millionaire who has a garage full of sports cars, there’s now a folding TV that costs just as much as a new vehicle.

Enter the C Seed N1, a massive 4K TV that unfolds like a machine in “Transformers” and then folds back up again to become a gleaming metal sculpture when not in use.

N1 4K 137 inch indoor TV folding
The company said it takes about 60 seconds for a TV to stand to its full height and another 25 seconds for it to fully unfold.

The company has been showing off the luxury TV at tech expos throughout 2024, including the Consumer Electronics Show in January and, more recently, the CEDIA Expo for home tech last week.

When it’s not in use, the N1 looks like a piece of Art Deco decor, but the company said it takes less than 90 seconds to become a flatscreen TV.

C Seed teased the new N1 TV in a concept video back in 2022. The company boasts a patented design that makes the foldable design possible.

All that fancy tech doesn’t come cheap. The 137-inch model comes with a $283,000 price tag. If that’s out of your budget, the N1 also comes in a 103-inch version that retails for $236,000. And for those looking to spend more than they could on a new Lamborghini, there’s the $389,000 model with a gigantic 165-inch screen.

The TV can be placed just about anywhere, according to C Seed.

C Seed says it’s the first of its kind, and a representative told CNET that the company has sold about 200 custom-built foldable TVs over the past decade.

Camouflaging TVs is all the rage with transparent displays and frame TVs meant to look like artwork. There was also LG’s $100,000 rollable TV.

Another TV that made a splashy debut at CES this year was LG’s see-through OLED TV. The 77-inch display can blend into your wall or look like a fish tank when not in use. But, it’s unclear how much it will cost when it becomes available.

Updated September 13, 2024, with the latest pricing information for the various TV models.
