Apparently this Manning has some serious wheels

Texas Longhorns backup quarterback Arch Manning is all the buzz after his incredible five-touchdown performance versus UTSA this past weekend, including a scrambling 67-yard touchdown with his feet—a feat his uncles weren’t known for. Manning came in the game in relief of three-year starter Quinn Ewers, who suffered a rib injury during the first half.

Texas fans aren’t the only ones who are keen on what they’ve seen of Manning so far.

In fact, Manning earned a handful weekly honors after his (more or less) breakout debut.

That includes the Southeastern Conference, which named Manning its Co-Freshman of the Week.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award also named Manning its “National Player of the Week.”

Manning will look to guide Texas, which recently earned its first No. 1 AP Poll ranking since 2008, through the coming weeks as Ewers attempts to heal ahead of Texas’ SEC stretch.

Up next for Manning and teammates, ULM at home this weekend.
