Stephen A. Smith reacts to Cowboys blowout loss, mocks week 2 struggles

Stephen A. Smith reacts to Cowboys blowout loss, mocks week 2 struggles

The Dallas Cowboys suffered a blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and Stephen A. Smith loved every minute of the game. On X, the ESPN personality shared a video of the final moments of the contest before popping on the screen and began laughing.

“Week 2 and it’s already started,” Smith said. “How ’bout them Cowboys! See you tomorrow on First Take and Stephen A. Smith Show. Monday can’t come soon enough.”

Smith is known for trolling the Cowboys and their fans. And with the team losing to the Saints 44-19, Smith is going to have a field day with Dallas for the rest of the week. When the Cowboys lost to the Packers in the wild-card round of the playoffs earlier this year, Smith ripped Dak Prescott for his endorsement of head coach Mike McCarthy.

“We don’t give a damn about Dak Prescott’s endorsement of Mike McCarthy!” Smith said at the time, per Sports Illustrated. “A matter of fact, if we do give a damn about it, it should be for the opposite reasons! The fact that Dak Prescott endorsed him is more of a reason he should be gone!”

Stephen A. Smith watched Cowboys QB Dak Prescott throw two interceptions

It was a bad day in the office for the Cowboys as Prescott threw two interceptions and the defense allowed 432 yards of offense. After the game, Prescott talked about the team’s offensive struggles at their home stadium.

“It’s hard to say we were pressing,” he said, per the Cowboys official website. “But, obviously, you’re trying to play complementary football and your defense is struggling to stop a group, so you want to do your part and then score touchdowns and come back. We weren’t able to score touchdowns. I mean, we were able to move the ball up and down the field, but we couldn’t score touchdowns.”

Prescott added: “I can’t say that we were pressing, necessarily, going from last week to this week. “As I said, there’s some things that we wanted to get better at. We got better at third down this week, but now it’s the red zone. I think if we scored some touchdowns, it makes the defense feel a little bit better and it’s a whole different feel within the game for both sides of the ball.”
