Many people believe Colorado plays for clicks. On Monday, Shilo Sanders humerously might have proved they do.

Sanders was recorded on the Buffs’ practice field, where the recently injured defensive back joked with his older brother, Deion Sanders Jr., who asked Shilo if he was playing his week.

“Alright y’all, since we play for clicks, If this video gets to 200k I’m going to play this weekend,” Shilo Sanders said.

Jokes aside, Shilo is in the midst of healing a broken arm suffered during the Buffs’ loss to Nebraska in Week 2. He obviously wasn’t suited up on the practice field on Monday, and it’s unlikely he’ll return for Saturday’s game — regardless of clicks.

While his injury did require surgery, he’s only expected to miss 2-3 weeks for Colorado. Coach Prime said that his son is a fast healer. That means Shilo is expected to be back for the early portion of their Big 12 schedule, and before they meet a ranked Kansas State team on Oct. 12.

Shilo was shown in his hospital bed after surgery, where he described what it was like realizing he broke his arm against the Huskers.

“After I made that tackle, I tried to lift my arm up. It feels like your hands going like this, like your arm goes up, but your hand has no control,” Shilo said while raising his forearm on his left, non-injured arm. “It feels like it’s somebody else’s hand. It didn’t hurt that bad, it just felt like adrenaline.”

He added that he thinks people are probably happy he can’t do him and his brother’s signature watch flex touchdown celebration for the time being.

As he continues his injury recovery, Shilo appears to be in good spirits despite missing Week 3’s rivalry game against Colorado State. While his 2-3 week injury designation puts his timeline for return on track for Saturday’s game against Baylor, it doesn’t seem likely given his surgery would be less than two weeks from the time of kickoff.

It’s more likely that Shilo returns for Sept. 28’s road trip to UCF. However, that is up for speculation as he has yet to be cleared for competition.

Until then, the Sanders brothers will have to be represented by quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is one yard shy of 1,000 passing yards this season. Coupled with two-way star Travis Hunter on both sides of the football, Colorado”s offense has two of the most explosive players on their squad this season.
