Scoreboard Rundown: Seven ranked matchups across the state

Scoreboard Rundown: Seven ranked matchups across the state

Week 5 of Kentucky high school football was an exciting one. Going off KSR’s Top 25 statewide rankings, there were a total of seven ranked matchups on the schedule — and they didn’t disappoint. With warm weather still consuming most of the state on Friday night, you couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere to play in under the lights.

We’ll start with the KSR Game of the Week, which saw No. 22 Woodford County fend off No. 23 Pulaski County down in Somerset by a final score of 31-22. Dennis Johnson’s team improved to 5-0 on the season heading into the bye week and will surely see a slight bump in their ranking come Monday morning.

Elsewhere, the most-hyped game of Friday night took place in Louisville as No. 4 Trinity took down No. 3 Male, 24-21. Also in Louisville, No. 8 DuPont Manual picked up an impressive 35-7 win over No. 14 South Warren while No. 20 Christian Academy-Louisville came up short against No. 13 Ryle. In Lexington, No. 11 Frederick Douglass ended No. 5 Corbin’s 41-game regular season winning streak.

Below you can find all of the final scores from teams among KSR’s Top 25 rankings, along with the teams outside of the rankings that received votes from our panel of 10 voters. We have compared the final result to the pregame predictions from On3’s Massey Ratings, which once again did a solid job of predicting the winner and getting close to the final score.
