This is a rematch of last season’s national championship game, which Michigan won 34-13 in Houston, and now is a Big Ten Conference matchup. The Wolverines are tasked with going on the road for the first time, and the podcast hosts are excited.

“Well, I packed my national championship bag that they gave us at the national championship,” Balas said of the media gift. “I don’t know, is it too soon for them, you think, a little reminder going through the airport there? That’s a sweet bag. Tell me that’s not a sweet bag. It’s one of the best gifts we’ve ever gotten, which it should be when you go to the national championship game. But I got a little surprise for you guys, we are going to be climbing Mt. Rainier on Friday, so pack accordingly. We’re going to go up, down and be back for the Brazilian steakhouse that night.

“But no, I can’t wait for this trip. We were supposed to make this trip in 2020 when Michigan was supposed to play there. I can’t wait to do some sailgating — I think that might be a reality on Saturday — which would be unbelievable. That’s part of the experience out there. But we ran into some Washington fans when we were at one of the restaurants in Houston, and they were good people and it was fun to talk to them. What an experience. I can’t wait to get out there, and I think they’ve got a good fan base. I really don’t know what to make of this game, fellas. This is a huge opportunity for Michigan, and like the USC game, it’s a pivotal matchup.”

Michigan and Washington will kick off at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Husky Stadium.
