AKRON – The Lettermen Row Recruiting team hit the road on Friday to watch one of the top high school football games in the state of Ohio.

Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban hosted Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius in a game that featured a handful of Ohio State targets and close to double digit prospects with Division I offers. Lettermen Row has several observations from the game.

– To start, four-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban offensive tackle Sam Greer is a massive individual. Greer is every bit of the 6-foot-8 that he is listed at on his On3 profile. He towers over everyone on the Hoban sideline. Greer is an offensive tackle all the way.

– When it comes to Greer’s on field performance, he was very impressive. He consistently moved St. Ignatius defenders off the line of line of scrimmage. He also proved to be tough to get around in pass protection. Greer has the potential to be the best offensive tackle to come out of Ohio since former Ohio State standout Paris Johnson Jr.

– Greer spoke highly of his visit to Ohio State for the Western Michigan game after the game. He has a close relationship with offensive line coach Justin Frye and that has helped the Buckeyes stay near of the top of this recruitment. Alabama, Missouri and Tennessee are three others schools that he is high on but Ohio State is setting the pace in this recruitment.

– Another Archbishop Hoban Knight that stood out was 2027 four-star athlete Brayton Feister. The 6-foot-3 and 215-pound prospect primarily plays running back at the high school level but could play tight end or linebacker in college. He had three rushing touchdowns in the game and displayed plenty of power as a runner. Ohio State linebackers coach James Laurinaitis has already been in touch with Feister.

– In a game with close to double-digit Division I prospects, one of the guys that stood out the most from a height, weight and speed perspective was 2027 Archbishop Hoban safety John Johnson. He stands out right away at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds. Johnson does not currently have any Division I scholarship offers but that will change as he gets more film this season. He profiles as a Power Four prospect.

– One final underclassman that impressed for Archbishop Hoban was 2028 athlete Brydon Feister, Brayton’s younger brother. The younger Feister has similar physical profile to his older brother. He played a handful of snaps at running back but also rotated in as an EDGE rusher. Brydon Feister will be a name to follow going forward, similar to his older brother.
