Emilee Skinner, On3’s No. 5 women’s basketball recruit in the Class of 2025, has committed to the Duke Blue Devils, she told On3. 

Skinner, a 6-foot point guard from Millville (Utah) Ridgeline, chose Duke over Iowa, TCU, Notre Dame and UCLA after taking an official visit last weekend.

“I took an unofficial there last summer, and it was only a day or so, so I didn’t get to see everything, but when I went there, I really liked it,” Skinner told On3 in a previous interview. “I like all the coaches. Obviously, coach Kara [Lawson] is really good at what she does. She has a lot of experience, and she’s really smart.”

Relationships played a significant role in Skinner’s decision – and she had a strong relationship with Duke’s staff.

“I enjoy talking to those guys a lot,” Skinner told On3 in a previous interview. “I think they all have a good personality. All the schools I’m talking to are kind of a little bit different –  the coaches are a little bit different personality-wise, but I think they all are good people. The team and coaching staff had a good vibe. Campus is really pretty. I like the facilities.”

As a junior in high school, Emilee Skinner led Ridgeline to a 25-2 record and a repeat 4A state championship, averaging 24 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.7 blocks and 3.5 steals.

“I would say I like to play in transition a lot,” Skinner said in a previous interview. “I like to play quick. I don’t like to slow things down. I like to get out and go. I would say I can get to the rim. I have a good mid-range, but I think I can shoot the three well. I just need to learn how to shoot it with less space and faster…I think I’m a good defender, but there’s always more to learn.”
