Tyran Stokes, the No. 2 overall player in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, will be taking an official visit to Louisville this weekend a source confirms to On3.

The Five-Star Plus+ junior’s trip to Louisville will be his first official visit. Stokes, who is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, does not currently have any other visits scheduled. Although programs like Kentucky, UNC, and Arkansas, among others, are heavily involved with Stokes.

Stokes is a 6-foot-7 small forward who currently attends Los Angeles (CA) Notre Dame High. He played this summer on Nike’s EYBL Circuit with the Oakland Soldiers where he averaged 20.4 points while shooting 50.3 percent from the field and 40.3 percent from three. This was Stokes’ second year playing up on the 17u level.

This summer, Stokes also won his second FIBA gold medal, playing with the USA Basketball U17 team. En route to this year’s gold, Stokes averaged 12.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.

Stokes is set to arrive at Louisville just after midnight on Friday morning.

Tyran Stokes talks Louisville and recruitment

In previous interviews with Tyran Stokes, he has spoken to On3 about Louisville.

“Coach (Ronnie) Hamilton stays on me. He texts me after every game,” Stokes told On3. “Most of my family lives in Louisville.

“I would say those two (Louisville and Kentucky) are the schools that are in contact with me the most,” Stokes added. “They’re home, so that plays some type of part. But at the end of the day, that won’t really matter.”

Stokes knows what he is ultimately looking for in a school.

“When I’m looking at schools, I want to go somewhere I can live my life and have fun,” Stokes said. “I want to play for a coach who loves me and coaches who want to get the best out of me and see me win, and get to the next level.”

He also stated, “I want to play for someone who really appreciates me outside of the court. Someone who is going to talk with me just about how things are going and not just talk basketball all the time. I’m looking for a home, a place that I’m going to feel comfortable.
