Nebraska cornerback Tommi Hill ruled out vs. Illinois with apparent head injury

In Nebraska‘s showdown against Illinois on Friday, Cornhuskers defensive back Tommi Hill left the game with an apparent head injury. After heading back to the locker room for further inspection, he was ruled out of the game and returned to the sideline in street clothes.

It’s a massive loss for the Cornhuskers, who allowed the Fighting Illini to amass 123 yards and a touchdown in the first half alone. Before leaving the game with an injury, Hill recorded two tackles.

Tommi Hill has started every game for Nebraska this season and entered the game on Friday with 12 tackles and an interception, which he returned for a touchdown against Colorado. It was Nebraska’s first pick-six since 2019.

In the 2023 campaign, Hill appeared in all 12 of the Huskers’ games, notching 26 tackles, nine pass breakups and four interceptions. It’s no surprise that Hill has a knack for finding the ball on defense. He’s also played wide receiver at Nebraska.

Injury update on Auburn WR Cam Coleman

Auburn freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman is expected to play on Saturday against Arkansasper ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Coleman didn’t play in Auburn’s Week 3 win over New Mexico after suffering a shoulder injury in Auburn’s 21-14 loss to California on Sept. 7.

In his debut campaign, Coleman boasts four receptions for 115 yards and one touchdown. Coleman was the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

In his senior year of high school, Coleman tallied 61 receptions for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns to lead Central HS to the Class 7A state championship. He didn’t falter under the bright lights, reeling in a 73-yard TD pass in the state title game to earn MVP honors.

Now, Coleman will have a chance to shine against Auburn’s first SEC foe of the season. The first-year standout should have numerous opportunities. Arkansas is allowing 228 passing yards per game, ranking No. 88 in the country.

The Auburn Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks will go head-to-head at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will air live on ESPN.
