Mississippi State receiver Jordan Mosley made an impressive catch in the corner of the end zone midway through the third quarter to cut Florida’s lead to 28-21. Afterwards, he let the Gators know about it.

Mosley and fellow receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. did the Gator chomp after the Mosley’s catch, taunting Florida players. You can watch the catch and Gator chomp below:

It’s no surprise that an opponent did the Gator chomp to troll Florida, although you usually don’t see that when a team is still losing.

Florida has played well, particularly on offense, putting 42 points on the board with time still remaining in the fourth quarter.

This was a huge came for the Gators and Billy Napier. Despite the trolls from Mississippi State players, the Gators have played well and are in control.

Controversial blindside block call on Montrell Johnson wipes long Florida TD off the board

Mississippi State could be behind by even more if not for a call that went against the Gators in the third quarter.

The call went against Gators running back Montrell Johnson.

On a pass for Aidan Mizell, Johnson was flagged near the play when he provided a block out in space. Johnson appeared to cleanly block the defender, who was coming across the field.

But officials ruled he made contact against a defenseless player, a blindside block, calling back the play… which went for a 65-yard touchdown to Mizell on a tremendous run after the catch.

Florida led the game 28-21 at the time of the penalty. The Gators would go on to score on the drive, extending the lead to 35-21 with 3:37 remaining in the third quarter.

Florida planned to rotate its quarterbacks routinely in today’s game against Mississippi State, with the talented freshman DJ Lagway set to get every third series in the game.

Lagway came in and immediately had some positives mixed with negatives, to be expected from a freshman quarterback.

“Well much like we did there, we got him an easy completion on the perimeter,” coach Billy Napier said in an interview on ESPN after the first quarter. “Look, he’s got to let the game come to him. I think if we watch the replay there we had an opportunity to throw the deep post. But great young player, great experience for him. He’s ready to go. He’s had a great week of preparation.”
