Malachi Moore, Qua Russaw injuries: Kalen DeBoer shares update on Alabama defenders after Wisconsin game
After Saturday’s resounding win over Wisconsin, Kalen DeBoer had updates on multiple Alabama injuries. Malachi Moore, Qua Russaw and Richard Young all left with injuries, and DeBoer said they’re all undergoing further evaluation.
Russaw went down just before halftime on Saturday with a leg injury and never came back, and Moore left Saturday’s game in the third quarter after taking a “hit to the head,” according to DeBoer. Young later left in the fourth quarter with what FOX’s Jenny Taft reported was a lower-body injury.
Alabama has a bye week coming up following a 3-0 record to start DeBoer’s tenure. That, he said, is a reason why he’s optimistic about all three players’ statuses going forward.
“Malachi got a hit to the head, so I think we’re just going through the protocol with him. And it helps having a bye week here. So, I’m thinking he’ll be alright and be fine,” DeBoer said. “Russaw, lower leg. I don’t know exactly where but I know it is lower and we’ll continue to evaluate with him. And Richard Young, I think same thing. I think just lower leg. I think, actually, very similar.”
