LSU coach Brian Kelly calls out defense vs. UCLA

LSU coach Brian Kelly calls out defense vs. UCLA

The LSU Tigers are in a battle with the UCLA Bruins on Saturday evening. The two teams are tied up 17-17 at halftime. Tigers head coach Brian Kelly was clearly not pleased with his defense heading into the locker room. He spoke with ABC sideline reporter Katie George before heading to speak with his team.

Why has UCLA’s offense been able to find success so far? “Because we don’t do our job on defense consistently enough. And you know, until our guys trust their technique and do the jobs they’re supposed to do, we’re gonna be inconsistent. And you know, that’s the frustrating part about it. Our guys want to do it. They’re just not consistently doing their jobs,” Kelly vented.

“So, you’re gonna give up some points. And then offensively, you’ve got to catch the football. You know, we can’t settle for three points there. We had opportunities on a couple of occasions to catch the football. And that’s not like us. So, offensively, we’ve got to be cleaner. Catch the football. Put seven on the board, not three. And then, we gotta do our job on defense,” Kelly finished.
