The health of Georgia’s defensive line has been a storyline all season long, and on Wednesday, head coach Kirby Smart was asked for the latest update on the lone lineman that has yet to return from injury, Jordan Hall.

Hall (leg) traveled with the team to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, counting against the Bulldogs’ allowed 74 players, but ended up not dresing. He worked out on the field pre-game with strength and conditioning coach Scott Sinclair. Smart has remained hopeful to get him back before too long. His availability for this weekend agaisnt Auburn – when UGA doesn’t have as tight of limitations on who can dress – remains to be seen.

“Yeah, Jordan’s continuing to progress and working hard,” Smart said during the SEC Coaches Teleconference call. “I mean, he does indy drills, he takes reps. He’s dealing with a little bit of pain there, and he’s just trying to get comfortable to tolerate that. I mean, it’s a very unique thing where he had both legs, not just one, which that’s compounded the issue a little bit for him.”

Meanwhile, defensive lineman/outside linebacker Mykel Williams made his long awaited return Saturday agaimst Alabama. After suffering an ankle injury in the season opener, Williams missed Georgia’s next two games. He was on the field for 25 snaps Saturday and feeling some soreness afterwards per Smart.

“Mykel has come along nicely. He’s still sore. He’s going to be sore on it. That’s to be understood,” Smart said. “It’s not when you go play on that and return from that injury, you have to deal with some pain and deal with that soreness. He’s done a tremendous job with rehab, and we’ve done a really good job of trying to help, you know, get him back, get him ahead of schedule each week.”

A full availability report will be shared later today, the first of four before kickoff to Georgia’s contest against Auburn. Updates will also come Thursday and Friday nights, as well as 90 minutes before kickoff.
