Kickoff time, TV channel announced for Alabama vs. Vanderbilt

Kickoff time, TV channel announced for Alabama vs. Vanderbilt

No. 4 Alabama will travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Vanderbilt in Week 6 of the college football season. The game will kick off at 3:15 p.m. CT on Oct. 5, and will air on SEC Network, the SEC announced on Monday morning.

The Crimson Tide has started the season 3-0, with wins over Western Kentucky, South Florida and Wisconsin. The competition is about to ramp up, with a home game against No. 2 Georgia on deck this week. Meanwhile, Vanderbilt has had an up-and-down start to the season. After upsetting Virginia Tech in Week 1 and beating Alcorn State in Week 2, the Commodores lost to Georgia State in Week 3 and followed it up with a double overtime loss to Missouri this past weekend.

Vanderbilt is on bye this week after starting the season 2-2, getting an extra week of preparation for the matchup with Alabama coming off this weekend’s crushing loss.

This is the first time Alabama has played Vanderbilt since 2022, a game the Crimson Tide on 55-3 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. It’s been seven years since Alabama last played at FirstBank Stadium, having last visited Nashville for a 59-0 win in 2017.

Alabama leads the all-time series with Vanderbilt 63-18-4, and has won 23 straight games in the series. Vanderbilt hasn’t beaten Alabama since 1984, while Alabama hasn’t lost to the Commodores in Nashville since 1969.

Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea is in his fourth season with the Commodores, currently holding an 11-29 record. His two wins so far in 2024 already match his season win total from last season. His best season in Nashville was a 5-7 season in 2022.

The game will be Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer‘s second SEC game of his career, as well as his first road game in SEC play.
