Alabama wide receiver Kendrick Law left the Crimson Tide’s 41-34 win over Georgia early in the second quarter with an injury and did not return to the game. After Alabama’s win, head coach Kalen DeBoer provided an update on his junior wideout.

“He’s got a lower-body injury. I don’t know what he’ll be,” DeBoer said. “But it’s unfortunate because I thought he really had a great week or two of practice and kept building too, a lot. I know he was really juiced up before the game.

“Thought he was doing some good job as far as just helping our offense,” DeBoer said. “It might not be things that show up on the stat sheet, but unfortunately he was not able to be there with us throughout the whole game.”

Before leaving the game on Saturday, Law recorded one catch for 19 yards. Law only has one other catch this season, which was a 22-yard touchdown reception against Western Kentucky. DeBoer didn’t reveal the severity of Law’s injury or a timeline for his return.

Although Law hasn’t reeled in as many catches as many fans expected this season, he’s still been a pivotal piece for the Crimson Tide. After Alabama’s win over WKU, Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan raved about Law’s ability to contribute without the ball in his hands.

“I thought he played fantastic in the game,” Sheridan said. “He was very physical on the perimeter. He’s somebody that’s important to our offense and that we know that the impact that he’ll have with the ball and without the ball will continue to be important for us as the season progresses because we think he’s an excellent football player and he’s good with the ball in his hands. 

“But what I think what is special about him, in addition to that, is just he’s exceptional without the ball, which is really the making of a great football player – which we think he is.”

If Kendrick Law is unavailable for an extended period, Alabama has no shortage of capable receivers. On Saturday, Alabama QB Jalen Milroe connected with 11 different receivers.
