Kalen DeBoer: Germie Bernard addressed Alabama team after Wisconsin, Jump Around comments
Kalen DeBoer was not a fan of WR Germie Bernard’s comments after Alabama dominated Wisconsin Saturday.
Bernard said “We were ready to shut that weak ass jump song down,” referring to the Badgers using “Jump Around” before the fourth quarter. Well, DeBoer definitely had a talk with his play maker.
“We want to be first class, and we slipped up a little bit there,” DeBoer said.
As DeBoer said, according to BamaOnline’s Charlie Potter, he said Bernard addressed the team following the game as well.
Bernard had three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown in the 42-10 win, helping Alabama improve to 3-0 on the young season. But, DeBoer had to reign in his wide receiver following the viral comments.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Bernard was a four-star recruit out of Henderson (Nev.) Liberty, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 5 overall prospect in the state, the No. 32 wide receiver in the class and the No. 197 overall prospect in the class.

Bernard was a big help to Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, whom head coach DeBoer praised after the game against the Badgers.
The junior was 12-for-17 passing for 196 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday against Wisconsin. Milroe also rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Alabama rushing attack.
“He’s huge. Just the threat and the way he manipulates the defense and how they have to play us,” DeBoer told Fox. “Eyes are in the backfield, you know, you don’t know where he’s going to be. He can take off and run any time, but he’s making the plays with his arm through the air today, too.”
