Jordan Travis voices message amid Florida State struggles: ‘They need our support more than anything’

Jordan Travis voices message amid Florida State struggles: ‘They need our support more than anything’

It’s been a trying year for Florida State football, with just about everything that can possibly go wrong going wrong. Former quarterback Jordan Travis is like much of the fanbase, watching it all unfold wishing he could do more.

Travis, of course, was the chief architect for Florida State’s 13-0 run last year.

The Seminoles won the ACC and appeared to be in a good position to make the College Football Playoff. Only the selection committee did not agree, leaving the ‘Noles at No. 5 and out of the dance.

Everything since then has been an abject disaster. And in the middle of a struggle against Memphis on Saturday, Jordan Travis weighed in on social media.

He quote-tweeted a fan on Twitter who stated that he wasn’t going to watch football the rest of the year because it’s “too embarrassing” and gave his two cents on the matter.

“I understand the feeling bruh, but we have been here before,” Travis wrote. “They need our support more than anything right now. They are hurting more than us right now.”

Travis has indeed been through it before. He was at Florida State during coach Mike Norvell‘s first season in charge in 2020. It was the pandemic-influenced season, but it was still a competitive affair.

And the Seminoles went 3-6, with just a 2-6 mark in ACC play.

Eventually, of course, Norvell would build toward that 13-win season that Jordan Travis starred in. And who knows what might have been, had Travis not suffered the season-ending injury he did with just two weeks to play in the regular season.

In any case, Florida State is now struggling with its third straight opponent of the 2024 season, trailing Memphis 10-3 in the first half.

Whether Florida State can turn it around and pull out its first win of the season remains to be seen. That Jordan Travis will be watching is not. He’s got his eyes glued to the television, in full support of his ‘Noles.
