Jordan Love injury update: Packers QB practices in pads
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love is getting closer to returning to action. Rob Demovsky of ESPN shared a video of Love practicing in pads on Thursday. This is the second consecutive day of practice for Love after he suffered a knee injury in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
With Love back at practice, he could play in Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. The Utah State alum missed just one game – Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts, when Malik Willis took over as starting quarterback.
For Love to play on Sunday, he will need to get medical clearance. And even if that happens, Love will need to be mobile enough to protect himself.
“The trainers are seeing everything I’m doing and they’re not gonna put me out there unless they feel confident that I can protect myself,” Love said Wednesday, per ESPN. “But at the same time, that’s why it’s good to get some practice reps in and get that feel of what it’s like again.”

Malik Willis will be ready if Jordan Love can’t go on Sunday
If Love is not ready to go, Willis will have no issue stepping in again after completing 12 of his 14 passes for 122 yards and one touchdown in the Packers’ 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is making sure Willis can use more of the playbook in Sunday’s game.
“That’s always a challenge, and so throughout the course of the week, hopefully you get a better indication and that kind of leads to some of the decisions you have to make,” LaFleur said of getting two quarterbacks ready.
Love had high expectations for himself this season after leading the Packers to the divisional round of the playoffs in 2023. Before the start of the 2024 season, Love signed a $220 million, four-year contract extension, making him the franchise QB in Green Bay.
