One of the strange issues with the Iowa defense thus far this season is that they have been giving up explosive plays to opposing teams. Generally, Iowa has made a living not allowing big plays by opponents. On Saturday they gave up a couple of chunk plays and didn’t seem to be on the same page.

The second half saw Iowa look more like Iowa, which is exactly what team captain Jay Higgins was hoping to see. He talks about what was said at halftime and how the defense responded and built on what happened to start the second half.
