Ja’Lynn Polk hauls in first NFL career touchdown vs. Seahawks
New England Patriots rookie receiver Ja’Lynn Polk came down with his first career NFL touchdown catch in Sunday’s Week 2 home contest against the Seattle Seahawks.
Polk was on the receiving end of a bullet from quarterback Jacoby Brissett, as the two connected for a five-yard score with 4:54 remaining in the first quarter.

Polk, New England’s second round selection out of Washington, is off to a good start in Week 2 after a rather pedestrian debut in Week 1. He hauled in just one catch for six yards last Sunday but has the ability to eventually turn into the Patriots’ number one option in the passing game.
Though the box score didn’t show it, Patriots receivers coach Tyler Hughes thought Polk did some good things in Week 1.

Ja’Lynn Polk earns praise from Patriots WR coach
“He had some nice plays where he separated down the field,” Hughes said Thursday. “He has a really, I would say, fast play style and so he’s explosive at the top of the route. Does a nice job in his route set up so we can make that move vertically past the defender.
“He’s a guy that we definitely want to continue to develop and work with. Because he’s showing that he can separate. And that’s one of the most important things for any receiver is can you separate? And he’s showing that he can do that pretty consistently.”
Polk, 22, came into the NFL after spending four years with the Huskies, his best season coming in 2023. Pivotal to Washington’s run to the College Football Playoff National Championship game, Polk recorded 1,159 yards on 69 catches and nine touchdowns.
