Jalen Carter confronted by Nick Sirianni after being fired up on the sidelines amid Eagles win

Jalen Carter confronted by Nick Sirianni after being fired up on the sidelines amid Eagles win

Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) defensive lineman Jalen Carter was confronted by head coach Nick Sirianni and had to be restrained by multiple coaches during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 15-12 Week 3 victory over the New Orleans Saints (2-1).

With less than a minute remaining in the game, Carter appeared to be chirping Saints players from the sideline. That triggered a response from New Orleans safety Tyrann Mathieu and cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Sirianni wasn’t happy and attempted to calm him down.

Carter’s outburst came after Eagles safety Reed Blankenship picked off Saints quarterback Derek Carr to salt the game away. The 2023 first round pick was a big part of Philadelphia’s road win. He tallied four tackles (three solo), two tackles for loss, two passes defended and one quarterback hit.

Jalen Carter, Eagles shut down Saints offense

The Eagles collectively shut down the NFL‘s best offense through the first two weeks of the season, surrendering just 219 yards. It was especially a nice rebound for Carter, who was benched for the first series of last Monday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons (1-1) for being late to a team meeting.

“I was shocked but I knew I was going to have some consequences,” Carter said earlier this week. “I knew I was going to have some consequences. Gotta stand up and man up to it.”

Carter took the punishment in stride and should continue to play a big role in Philadelphia’s defense moving forward.
