Greg van Alst walks onto track, flips off Christian Rose after wreck at Bristol

Greg van Alst walks onto track, flips off Christian Rose after wreck at Bristol

We are starting to get very heated in the ARCA Menards Series race at Bristol. Greg van Alst has had enough of these young drivers. Van Alst has had a few run-ins over the last two years that have left him more than frustrated after a race or wreck.

Christian Rose got too deep into the turn and hit Greg van Alst in the rear bumper. It was enough to send the No. 35 car around and end van Alst’s day.

Afterward, van Alst got out of his car, walked onto the track, and made sure Rose saw him. A huge middle finger to let the AM Racing driver know how he felt.

If it makes him feel any better, Rose wrecked soon after.

Greg van Alst won the Daytona 200 in 2023. He is a driver that makes the ARCA series what it is. He has a right to be mad, he got run over and knocked out of a very important race. It’s Bristol, this is what these drivers live for.

In the past, van Alst has not been one to just let these wrecks happen. He usually speaks his mind or gets a little revenge on the track. Afterward, van Alst said he is friends with Rose, but the AM Racing driver overdrives constantly and runs into others on the track.

Tonight’s race has been a mess. There have been a record number of caution flags with 12 and counting. There could be a few more before this race is over. A tough end to the day for this van Alst crew.

Greg van Alst out early, ARCA race mayhem

Greg van Alst was by far not the only driver to be taken out of this race. 21st through 33rd were all DNFs. Bristol Motor Speedway has proven tricky for this ARCA Menards Field with plenty of mistakes tonight.

Earlier in the race, ARCA East points leader Connor Zilisch was taken out of the race. He got caught up in the mess of two other drivers. Amber Balcaen and Logan Misuraca were battling and making contact when Misuraca spun out, collecting Zilisch.

While this is the ARCA Menards Series, drivers have to be better. When you have a record number of cautions and half the field wrecked out of the race, that’s a problem. Drivers like van Alst and Zilisch have every right to be frustrated.

So, it’s a short night for a number of drivers. Let’s hope the Truck Series race tonight it a better showing than this ARCA race.
