Germie Bernard trolls Wisconsin after win: ‘We were ready to shut that weak ass jump song down’

Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard didn’t mince words after the Crimson Tide’s blowout win over Wisconsin in Madison Saturday.

The Crimson Tide beat the Badgers 42-10 on the road Saturday, shutting down Wisconsin in the second half. They improved to 3-0 on the season.

But Bernard didn’t want to hear anything about Wisconsin’s traditions going into the fourth quarter. Alabama led 35-10 at that point.

“We were ready to shut that weak ass jump song down,” Bernard said.

Bernard referred to “Jump Around,” which is played in the fourth quarter during games. He finished the game with three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Germie Bernard trolls Wisconsin after Alabama win

Bernard was a big help to Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, whom head coach Kalen DeBoer praised after the game.

The junior was 12-for-17 passing for 196 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday against Wisconsin. Milroe also rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Alabama rushing attack.

“He’s huge. Just the threat and the way he manipulates the defense and how they have to play us,” DeBoer told Fox. “Eyes are in the backfield, you know, you don’t know where he’s going to be. He can take off and run any time, but he’s making the plays with his arm through the air today, too.”

The Alabama offense put on a show against what was supposed to be a really good Badgers defense. Bernard was certainly a factor in that equation.

Alabama scored 21 points in each half in the impressive performance. Milroe also praised the play of the Alabama offensive line.

“Those guys are the foundation of the offense, the offensive line. We go as far as they go,” he said. “It’s awesome to have those additional guys up front. I’m proud of those guys for the tenacity, the grit, the fire they all had together and the pride they played together. It’s awesome to have those guys. I’m just looking forward to just keep playing with them.”
