Game-by-game predictions: ESPN gives Tennessee a 71% chance to win at Oklahoma

Updating ESPN’s game-by-game ‘Matchup Predictor’ for No. 6 Tennessee’s remaining nine games on the regular-season schedule, starting with the showdown at No. 15 Oklahoma Saturday night at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman:

No. 15 Oklahoma

Tennessee’s chance to win: 71.0%

Saturday | Away | 7:30 p.m. ET | ABC

The FPI gave Tennessee a 40.1% chance to win back in August, a 49.4% chance two weeks ago and a 66.6% chance last week. The numbers keeps climbing after Tennessee’s 3-0 start, paired with Oklahoma struggling at home against Houston and Tulane.

Arkansas

Tennessee’s chance to win: 84.1%

October 5 | Away | 3:30-4:30 or 6-8 p.m. ET | TBD

Arkansas had to rally from down 17-3 against UAB in the first half at home on Saturday, ultimately winning 37-27. The Razorbacks lost 39-31 in overtime at Oklahoma State on September 7 and beat Arkansas Pine Bluff 70-0 to start the season on August 29.

Florida

October 12 | Home | 3:30-4:30 or 6-8 p.m. ET | TBD

Billy Napier’s days as Florida’s head coach appear to be numbered. The Gators are off to a 1-2 start with ugly home losses to Miami (41-7) and Texas A&M (33-20) sandwiched around a 45-7 win over Samford.

No. 4 Alabama

October 19 | Home | 3:30-4:30 or 6-8 p.m. ET | TBD

Alabama beat Western Kentucky 63-0 to open the season, beat South Florida 34-16 in Week 2 then went to Wisconsin on Saturday and dominated the Badgers at Camp Randall, winning 42-10.

Kentucky

Tennessee’s chance to win: 92.6%

November 2 | Home | 6-8 p.m. ET | TBD

Kentucky has been hard to figure out. UK beat Southern Miss 31-0 at home to open the season, got throttled by South Carolina 31-7 in Lexington, then nearly upset No. 1 Georgia on Saturday night in a 13-12 loss.

Mississippi State

Tennessee’s chance to win: 95.3%

November 9 | Home | 6-8 p.m. ET | TBD

Mississippi State started the Jeff Lebby era with a 56-7 win over Eastern Kentucky, but has since lost back-to-back games. The skid started with a 30-23 loss at Arizona State last week before returning home to get thumped by Toledo, 41-17.

No. 2 Georgia

Tennessee’s chance to win: 45.7%

November 16 | Away | 3:30-4:30 or 6-8 p.m. ET | TBD

Georgia beat Clemson 34-3 to open the season in Atlanta and beat Tennessee Tech 48-3 in its home opener last week, but had to escape Kentucky Saturday night with the one-point win. Texas jumped Georgia as the No. 1 team in this week’s Associated Press Top 25.
