After Florida State fell 42-16 to SMU this past weekend, the program updated its depth chart to have DJ Uiagalelei and Brock Glenn as co-starters at quarterback. On Monday, FSU head coach Mike Norvell addressed the Seminoles’ dilemma at QB.

“DJ is something we’re going to evaluate throughout the course of the week and see where it goes from there,” Norvell said. “In all reality, I said it after the game, after the interception… I decided I was gonna make the change. Obviously, DJ did have the injury there but we just wanted to see that opportunity for Brock to go in and have a chance to execute.

“Obviously, those guys both have to go and prepare at an elite level this week and we will see how things play out throughout the course of what this week holds.”

In the loss, Uiagalelei completed five of his first six passes to lead the Seminoles to a touchdown on their opening drive. However, Uiagalelei failed to find the end zone again until midway through the third quarter.

After throwing a pick-six early in the fourth quarter, DJ Uiagalelei was replaced by Glenn. Uiagalelei also suffered a hand injury on the play, which Norvell claims the team will carefully watch this week. In Glenn’s limited time on the field, he failed to connect on any of his four pass attempts.

Now, Florida State must decide who will lead its offense moving forward. On Saturday, the Seminoles will face off against Clemson at 7 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ESPN.
