Former players, recruits and media react to Tennessee’s 24-17 win over Alabama

Tennessee trailed early but battled back and eventually held on for the 24-17 win over Alabama at Neyland Stadium Saturday night. It’s now the second-win in Knoxville over the Tide and the second in the past three in the series after dropping 15-straight from 2007-2021.

The Vols (6-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference play) head into the second BYE week with some confidence after knocking off two rivals in-a-row. Tennessee has not beaten Alabama at home in consecutive tries of the first time since 2004 and 2006.

Following the win. Tennessee recruits and student section began to flood the field. Dixieland Delight played over the loud speakers and the scene turned similar to that of 2022 with a large cloud of cigar smoke rising over downtown Knoxville.

Plenty of Volunteer recruits, Vols For Life and media alike took the time to celebrate on social media. Below are some bookmarked by the Volquest staff.
