Florida State vs. Cal odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch
A new era is underway in the ACC as Cal and Stanford join the league. The Golden Bears will now get ready to make their debut against Florida State in Week 4, and the early point spread has been released, according to FanDuel.
Florida State opened as a 5.5-point favorite over Cal in the matchup, according to FanDuel. The over-under is set at 46.5 points.
Florida State is looking to get on track after a rocky start to the season. The Seminoles suffered their third straight loss Sept. 14, falling to Memphis 20-14 at Doak Campbell Stadium. That dropped Mike Norvell’s group to 0-3 on the season.
As for Cal, the Golden Bears will play their first ACC game as a member of the league. They’re one of three newcomers this year, along with Stanford and SMU, after a groundbreaking round of conference realignment saw the Pac-12 drop to just two teams. Cal got a huge win last week, though, with a victory over Auburn on The Plains.

After entering the season ranked No. 10 in the country, Florida State dropped its first three games of the 2024 campaign. The Seminoles’ offense has bene up-and-down with new quarterback DJ Uiagalelei coming in from the transfer portal, and those struggles continued in Week 3.
FSU totaled 237 yards against Memphis, including just 37 on the ground. Uiagalelei had a rough day, as well, with 201 passing yards on 16-of-30 passing along with an interception.
After the game, Norvell pointed out the improvements that need to be made going forward. He said it all starts with preparation, and that’s going to be an area of focus moving forward.
“We all have to do a better job,” Norvell said during his postgame press conference, which ended with a fire alarm in the background. “…We can’t continue to come into games and see things that are absolutely not a part of who we are show up. So we all have to prepare better… These guys have not stopped working.”
The Week 4 matchup will mark the first time Florida State and Cal ever square off. It’s part of a new era for the ACC and college football as a whole.
