Danny Kanell trolls Alabama following upset loss to Vanderbilt

Danny Kanell trolls Alabama following upset loss to Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt pulled off a historic upset on Saturday afternoon, taking down No. 1 Alabama. Pandamonium ensued at FirstBank Stadium as students began to rush the field to celebrate. Social media was set ablaze too, with people beginning to troll the Crimson Tide.

Danny Kanell was certainly one of those, pulling out one of college football’s favorites — transative wins. With Vanderbilt taking down Alabama, Kanell was able to make a connection between Georgia State and Georgia.

The former beat Vanderbilt Week 2, while Georgia dropped their game in Tuscaloosa the week before. A chain that you have to imagine goes even a little further, a fun way to jab Alabama following their loss.

So, congrats to Georgia State on getting the wins against Alabama and Georgia. Both pulled off without ever taking the field against either of them.

Joking aside, these results are a result of how crazy college football can be. One week, Alabama is dominating Georgia before blowing a lead before pulling off an incredible win thanks to Ryan Williams. The next, they are watching people storm the field against them in Nashville.

Vanderbilt pulls off upset of No. 1 Alabama

Alabama spent all week looking to avoid the trap game/rat poison heading into the Vanderbilt game. A huge win against Georgia made national headlines for days and was even talked about on Saturday. And with a dangerous team, led by Diego Pavia, a tough game was ahead of the Crimson Tide.

Well, the mindset Kalen DeBoer tried to instill in his team fell a little short. Vanderbilt came out on with a ton of confidence, controlled the clock, and pulled off a historic upset against Alabama. Down goes the No. 1 ranked team in college football — a massive victory for Clark Lea and his program.

“I’m proud of our team,” Lea said postgame as fans stormed the field. “I believe in our team, I believe in what we’re building. There’s more for us than this. This isn’t the finishing point but it’s a hell of an arrival. Tonight, we’ll celebrate it. I love this university, I love this team. Let’s go get some more.”
