Clemson vs. NC State odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

Clemson vs. NC State odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

Clemson is set to take on NC State in the ACC opener for both teams on Saturday, a game that will set the early tone in conference play.

Both teams have had their ups and downs already in the 2024 season, suffering an early loss against an SEC squad. For Clemson, that was a 34-3 beatdown at the hands of No. 1 Georgia, while for NC State it was a 51-10 thrashing at the hands of No. 14 Tennessee.

According to lines listed by FanDuel, Clemson will open as a 12.5-point favorite over NC State. The over/under points total for the contest has been set at 49.5 points.

That sets the expectation for the game: Vegas is expecting a reasonably close contest and it wouldn’t be terribly surprising to see either team come out on top.

Location: Clemson, SC — Memorial Stadium

Clemson has the luxury of a bye week going into the contest against NC State, which could prove to be a useful benefit. Then again, NC State might have wanted to play after that Tennessee game, to shake the rust off.

In any case, both teams should be relatively evenly matched. The Tigers boast one of the nation’s best defensive fronts and could make life tough on whoever suits up at quarterback for the Wolfpack.

NC State had to turn to backup quarterback CJ Bailey against Louisiana Tech after starter Grayson McCall departed the game with an injury. The extent of that injury is unclear and will bear monitoring heading into the conference showdown.

In any case, the Wolfpack did mange to come from behind against the Bulldogs, potentially recapturing some mojo.

Will it be enough against Clemson? Time will tell.

The two teams are slated to meet at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, with a national broadcast slated for ABC.
