Car break-ins reported at the Kentucky-Georgia game

Leave your valuables at home if you’re attending Kentucky‘s game against Ohio on Saturday. Double-check that you locked your car before you go into the stadium, too, because there were reported break-ins during last weekend’s game against Georgia.

According to WKYT, police are investigating multiple Saturday night vehicle break-ins outside Kroger Field while the Cats played the Dawgs under the lights. As many as five vehicles were broken into, one missing an estimated $7,000 in belongings stolen from a truck. The victim drove in from Pennsylvania to attend the game.

Through conversations with UK Police and multiple victims, WKYT confirmed the break-ins occurred in the purple lot near Kentucky Proud Park, where thieves shattered windows to rummage through vehicles. Stolen items include a purse, laptop computer, iPad, phone and debit card.

Kroger Field’s parking lots are patrolled by UK Police during games. The police chief encouraged fans to keep any valuables locked up, hidden away, or, even better, at home.
