Cameron Boozer vs. AJ Dybantsa: Nation’s top two recruits set to face off

Cameron Boozer vs. AJ Dybantsa: Nation’s top two recruits set to face off

The stars will be out in Las Vegas on Sunday night, as Cameron Boozer and AJ Dybantsa — the nation’s top two basketball recruits — face off.

Dybantsa leads Utah Prep, a fledging prep school squad that he transferred to before this season. Boozer, meanwhile, teams up with his brother and fellow Duke commit Cayden Boozer for Miami (Fla.) Christopher Columbus High, where they have won three consecutive state titles.

The two teams are playing as part of the Border League showcase in Sin City, with the game set to tip of on ESPN2 at 8:00pm ET.

Both Dybantsa and Boozer have spent time ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2025, with the former currently occupying that spot after reclassifying from 2026 last year.

The 6-foot-7 Dybantsa is considered by many to be the top high school player in the country regardless of classification, and currently is down to a top six of AlabamaAuburnBYUKansasKansas State, and North Carolina.

Boozer, who ranks as the nation’s No. 2 prospect, is the son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer. He and his brother announced earlier this month that they would follow in their dad’s footsteps to the play for the Blue Devils, choosing Duke over Miami and Florida.

Boozer and Co. looking to add another trophy to the mantle

Cameron was named Gatorade’s National Boys Basketball Player of the Year, joining the likes of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Boozer went 26-4 and won the Class 7A state championship at Columbus. He averaged 21.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and two blocks per game.

Cayden, meanwhile, ranks as the No. 20 recruit and No. 4 PG in the cycle. In three years at the varsity level for Christopher Columbus High, he has averaged better than 14 points per game while grabbing 4.2 rebounds and dishing out 5.6 assists per contest.

The brothers have led their school to a state championship in each of their first three high school seasons and will be looking to a rare four-peat this spring.

While those lead the Explorers, Dybantsa plays alongside top-50 2025 prospect JJ Mandaquit and 2026 four-star guard Anthony Felesi.

The two teams already faced off earlier this fall in another event, with Dybantsa scoring 43 points, but Cameron (42 points) and Cayden (30 points) ultimately led their team to a 95-76 victory.
