Breaking: Four-star guard Mazi Mosley commits to LSU

Breaking: Four-star guard Mazi Mosley commits to LSU

LSU picked up its second commitment of the 2025 class on Monday afternoon as four-star shooting guard Mazi Mosley announced his commitment to Matt McMahon and the Tigers.

The 6-foot-4 scorer from California took his official visit to LSU just over a week ago and shut down his recruitment in the following days, having taken visits already to USC, Iowa, and Michigan, but LSU further showed him how he’d fit in and how badly they wanted him in Baton Rouge.

“It’s been exciting being recruited by them,” Mosley said in early September. “I like the energy and hearing from coach McMahon and coach Patrick. I know Vyctorious Miller who plays for them so that’s cool too. I’m on calls regularly with McMahon and Patrick, so I can tell they’re interested.”

Mosley has been a top target for the Tigers the past few months as the staff looks to further build the backcourt for the future in this class. LSU already has Pennsylvania forward Matthew Gilhool in the class and now continues to make noise on the recruiting trail.

Mosley is the No. 62 player in the country on the On3 Industry Rankings and the No. 18 shooting guard.

“It’s fun,” Mosley said. “I enjoy the whole process of being recruited and being able to choose where I take my talent at the next level. The summer went well. I was invited to the Top 100 and the USA camp, so I learned a lot in those settings. That just gave me a boost to be ready for the next level.”

Mosley is playing his final season of college basketball at Montverde Academy, the same school Curtis Givens played at last year. Mosley continues to round out his game and further develop for the next level as his high school senior season approaches.

“I have a winning mentality,” Mosley said. “I’m a likable person who can relate to everyone. On the court, I’m a dog who wants to win and I can shoot it, pass it and do it all. I’ve heard great things from LSU and it’s just about me getting better so that wherever I go I’ll be able to play early.”
