Bo Bassett updates recruitment list after ‘Who’s Number One’ victory

Bo Bassett updates recruitment list after ‘Who’s Number One’ victory

Bo Bassett dominated in FloWrestling’s Who’s Number One event and revealed his latest recruiting list Wednesday.

Now down to 16 schools, it’s starting to feel real for the No. 1 recruit in 2026 per MatScouts. Bassett won at WNO in his hometown of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Speaking of which, that name remained on the list.

“With WNO here in Johnstown this weekend, I got to see almost every college coach since they were all in town,” Bassett wrote in his newsletter. “It was great talking with most of them. Michigan stuck around and stopped by McCort. Jax and I had lunch with them. I then had my official home visit with them. During the visit the power went out and it became much different than the other visits. It turned out to be great and it was exciting learning about their vision for Michigan wrestling.

“I really like their focus on international wrestling and their RTC. Coach KJ was with my dad in the corner, in Budapest, when I won my first world title. As the weeks go by the graphic is getting harder and harder to eliminate teams. I have two more home visits scheduled with Oklahoma State and UPJ!”

Bassett eliminated Lehigh from this week’s list.

Bassett also noted his schedule of official visits on campus:

Oct 25-27: Iowa
Nov 1-3: Penn State
Nov 8-10: Ohio State
Nov 15-17: Virginia Tech
Nov 22-24: Oklahoma State
Jan 24-26: Rutgers

Bassett said he plans to scheduled a few more visits with schools.

“I am working on dates with Iowa State, UPJ, and a few other colleges,” Bassett said. “I will be pushing my recruiting into the spring. I am in no rush to make a really big decision until I get to see all the schools I may be interested in!”

A 2024 Pennsylvania state champion and U20 World Bronze Medalist, the saga continues for Bassett.
