BBNFL Week 4: Will Levis injured; Wan’Dale Robinson sets career-high in receptions

BBNFL Week 4: Will Levis injured; Wan’Dale Robinson sets career-high in receptions

Somewhere, Will Levis is frantically looking for the season reset lever. Unfortunately, if it were to exist, he might not be able to pull it with his throwing arm because the former Kentucky quarterback injured his right shoulder on Monday Night Football.

Levis dove headfirst out of bounds on a scramble, lunging for the first down marker, but he landed hard on his right side, had to leave the game, and did not return. The beleaguered quarterback will have an MRI to further evaluate the injury, but initial indications suggest an AC joint injury.

The Titans have a bye in Week 5 giving Levis an extra week of healing time.

Before he left the game, it was more struggles from the mayonnaise-scented signal caller. Levis completed three of his four passes for 25 yards, but unfortunately, his fourth pass was an interception to a defensive lineman, as turnovers continue to plague him. It also didn’t help that cameras caught him saying, “I didn’t see him at all,” as he got off the field, not to mention a really strange facial expression while reviewing film with Mason Rudolph.

In unrelated news, both Levis and Rudolph used to date former contestants of The Bachelor. You’re welcome for that unnecessary bit of knowledge you will now never forget.

After the game, Titans head coach, Brian Callahan, said Levis is 100% his starting quarterback when healthy, despite the fact Mason Rudolph came in and led the Titans to their first win of the year, pounding the Dolphins 31-12.

Wan’Dale Robinson records career-high 11 receptions

Will Levis’s collegiate favorite target, Wan’Dale Robinson, is thriving for New York, even though a former Duke Blue Devil is throwing him the ball. Robinson’s 37 targets through four weeks is fifth-most in the league, as he and teammate Malik Nabers are gobbling up 67 percent of all the Giants’ targets.

On Thursday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, Robinson caught 11 of the 14 passes thrown his way for 71 yards. His 11 catches were the most in his young NFL career, but is a record he may break soon and often.

Now healthy and slotted beside a budding star in Malik Nabers who draws the attention of the defense, Robinson is shooting up the NFL wide receiver charts.

Bud Dupree records first two sacks of the season

Last week, Bud Dupree recorded his second-career NFL interception. He followed that up this week with his first two sacks of the season and his first two as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 10-year veteran has had a few up-and-down seasons as he has bounced around to a few teams, but on Sunday, he took the defending Super Bowl champion quarterback from up to down on more than one occasion.

In other BBNFL defensive news, Josh Hines-Allen did not record a sack, but his tenacious pass rushing landed him atop the PFF grades among former Wildcats. He recorded an 82.1, though the Jaguars dropped to 0-4 on the season.

Other BBNFL Notes:

  • Darian Kinnard was active for the first time for the Eagles since signing with the team in February. He did not, however, see the field in Week 4.
  • Carrington Valentine was a limited participant in practice this week as he is working himself back from an ankle injury. Hopefully, we get to see the second-year player on the field for the Packers soon.
  • The Washington Commanders called up Chris Rodriguez from the practice squad, but C-Rod played just six special teams snaps in his team’s blowing win over Arizona.
