Alabama vs. Vanderbilt odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

Alabama vs. Vanderbilt odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

Alabama is set to take on Vanderbilt in a conference showdown between teams typically at opposite ends of the league standings, but could this year provide a different outcome?

Vanderbilt has been considerably more competitive than normal thanks to the presence of transfer quarterback Diego Pavia. He gives the ‘Dores a chance.

However, according to lines listed by FanDuel, Alabama opens as a 25.5-point favorite over Vanderbilt. The over/under point total for the game is listed at 57.5 points.

That sets the expectation going into the game: The Crimson Tide are a heavy favorite and should be expected to win the contest against the Commodores.

Location: Nashville, TN — FirstBank Stadium

Perhaps the most interesting factor heading into this game will be the difference the two teams had in the week prior to the meeting. While Vanderbilt was on a bye week, Alabama had a tough opponent in Georgia.

Will that provide an advantage for the Commodores, who should be better rested and perhaps more well-prepared.

In any case, Pavia makes for an interesting matchup. He has been excellent for the ‘Dores, throwing for six touchdowns with no interceptions while rushing for 279 yards and two touchdowns.

His ability to mix things up via the run or the pass has made Vanderbilt significantly more dangerous.

That said, it’s hard to get much more dangerous than Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. He’s been an electric dual-threat prospect all year long, capable of beating defenses single-handedly.

Throw in some of Alabama’s other weapons offensively and Vanderbilt will be hard pressed to slow the Crimson Tide down. In any case, it should be an interesting matchup.
