AJ Brown injury update: MRI reveals positive news on Eagles WR

AJ Brown injury update: MRI reveals positive news on Eagles WR

Philadelphia Eagles receiver AJ Brown has a chance to play this week after suffering a knee injury in Sunday’s 28-23 win against the Jaguars. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, an MRI revealed no structural damage to Brown’s knee and the injury is “more of a contusion than anything.”

Brown left Sunday’s game late in the first half and finished with just two catches for 36 yards. His status throughout practice will be worth monitoring this week, but this is good news for his availability for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

Brown had already previously missed three games earlier this season due to a hamstring injury. Despite this, he still ranks second on the team with 23 catches for 444 yards and three touchdowns.

Last season with the Eagles, Brown had 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven scores. He signed a three-year contract extension with the team in April that guarantees him $84 million.

Philadelphia increased its winning streak to four games and improved to 6-2 on the season with the win against Jacksonville on Sunday. The Eagles currently sit a half-game behind the Washington Commanders for first place in the NFC East standings.

As for the Cowboys, they’ll enter this matchup having lost three straight. Kickoff for the contest is set for 4:25 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Dallas Cowboys name starting QB vs. Eagles

Dallas Cowboys (3-5) head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Cooper Rush will start under center in place of Dak Prescott (hamstring) in this Sunday’s Week 10 home matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles (6-2).

“Cooper Rush is as respected of a backup quarterback that I’ve [been around] since Rich Gannon. … [Rush] carries that type of credibility. He’s a great teammate,” McCarthy said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “He’s someone that you can see the young guys lean on.

“He’s wicked smart, instinctive. He does a great job when he runs the scout team. He just does everything the right way. Excellent pro. There will be plenty of confidence in him.”
