Aaron Rodgers injury: Jets QB reveals update on knee on Pat McAfee Show

Aaron Rodgers injury: Jets QB reveals update on knee on Pat McAfee Show

Aaron Rodgers joined The Pat McAfee Show for his weekly appearance on Tuesday, where he provided an update on his health, particularly his knee.

The Jets quarterback seemed to be limping at the end of New York’s shocking loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 4. Anytime Rodgers comes up a little lame will inspire some harrowing flashbacks, but the former NFL MVP let the world know it’s nothing serious, he’s just feeling the normal attrition of the season at the moment.

“I’m feeling a little banged up. Took some shots. Knee is a little swollen. But you know, just kind of wear and tear, Week 4,” Rodgers told McAfee and the crew. “I’m hoping that we can all have a little perspective here. That seemed like an outlier game.

“Obviously, Denver has a real solid defense. But you know, the weather and their defense and our execution made it a pretty bad combination there, only putting up nine points.”

Evidently, Rodgers is more concerned with the way the Jets offense played than with his own health, which is a good sign for the quarterback. It also falls in line with an update Adam Schefter provided on the star quarterback during ESPN’s SportsCenter on Monday, where he stated, “Unless doctors find something, the sense that he would be out there (in Week 5).”

One thing is for sure, the Jets offensive line will have to be better against the Minnesota Vikings than they were against the Broncos. Rodgers was sacked five times and took 14 QB hits versus Denver, which can’t be the case if New York wants to achieve their playoff aspirations.

Still, head coach Robert Saleh isn’t worried, as he told the media Rodgers was “fine” after the game, and likely just going through some wear and tear, which Rodgers confirmed on Tuesday.

In Week 4, Rodgers completed 24 of his 42 pass attempts for 225 yards in what was a poor performance from New York’s offense, failing to score a single touchdown in Sunday’s game as rain poured down on the Meadowlands, and picking up 13 penalties for 90 yards in their first home loss of the season.

Maybe their trip to London is coming at the perfect time, as Aaron Rodgers and the Jets will face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET inside of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The game is sure to be a doozy across the pond.
