Jalen Haralson, a five-star small forward in the 2025 class, has set his commitment date for Wednesday, September 25th.

The 6-6 senior out of La Lumiere School (IN) is set to decide between Indiana, Notre Dame, and Michigan State.

Haralson is the No. 11 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 3 small forward prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Haralson talks programs involved

MICHIGAN STATE: “Coach (Mark) Montgomery was the coach recruiting me, but he went to Detroit-Mercy. Since then, Coach TK (Thomas Kelley) has taken over. It’s always love with them, the full staff is recruiting me. Coach Saddi (Washington) was recruiting me at Michigan, now he’s at Michigan State, and he called me too. It’s a whole staff thing with them. That is one of the things I’m looking for, which coaching staff is the most interested in me, and Michigan State is at the top with that.”

INDIANA: “I was Coach (Mike) Woodson’s first offer in his office, so that tells you a lot. My brother went there, that is the school I kind of know the most. My brother went there, my cousin-in-law was Ms. Indiana there, it’s the hometown school. It’s just a family connection with them. Coach Woodson is kind of like family now.”

NOTRE DAME: “Coach (Micah) Shrewsberry, I think, is one of the best basketball coaches in America. We talk basketball all the time, the NBA Finals; we don’t even really talk college basketball. He’s a brilliant mind, and I feel like I have a brilliant mind at my age, so it’s good learning from a coach like that. We watch a lot of film, like ball screens, and he’s already helped me a lot with my game.”

Scouting Report

“Jalen Haralson has a sturdy frame, one that should take well to strength and conditioning programs without losing athleticism as he continues to move forward. He has good length as well. There are interesting aspects to Haralson’s game as a point-forward type. He has a solid handle as a mismatch forward, able to get his team into sets or push the break. He is also capable of initiating offense from different levels of the court. He is a quick processor with good floor vision. Haralson is a solid straight-line athlete. He has an understanding of team defense and angles. There are questions about his lateral quickness and his burst. The jump shot can be a weapon at this point, but he needs to continue drilling down its consistency. Some unique tools with his size and feel.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
