4-star Aiden Derkack discusses latest offers

4-star Aiden Derkack discusses latest offers

Aiden Derkack is currently the No. 89 overall player in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-5 wing averaged 19.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game at Woodbridge (NJ) Colonia High last season.

“I’m an all-around player,” Derkack told On3. “I’m a player who likes to get up and down in transition and I like to hit shots off the dribble-attack. I watch a lot of Kevin Durant and I watch a lot of Raja Bell, especially on the defensive end. He’s a family friend. He and my dad played together at FIU.”

“Right now, I have offers from Merricmack, Radford, Albany, Villanova, Rutgers, TCU, and Miami,” Derkack said.

Derkack talks offers

MIAMI: “I’ve been watching them a lot. I see they like to get up and down the floor a lot, which is similar to my game. They have great coaching, I’ve talked to most of them already, and they are a fun team with how they play.”

RUTGERS: “They are a great program also. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get to a lot of their games this year with my brother there. I’ll be able to watch them more in-depth. The coach there is great, they just have a great program.”

VILLANOVA: “They have a great coaching staff and an awesome style of play. One of their coaches now actually grew up in my hometown. So that is great to have that kind of connection.”

Basketball Bloodlines

Aiden Derkack’s dad Gene Derkack played from 1995 to 1999 at Florida International. The 6-foot-6 forward played 110 games and averaged 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds for his career. Derkack’s older brother, Jordan Derkack, is the reigning Northeast Conference Player of the Year. After averaging 17.7 per game last season at Merrimack, Derkack transferred to Rutgers in the off-season.

In Aiden Derkack’s words

“I’m looking for a school that fits my style of play,” Derkack said. “I want to play for an awesome coaching staff that I trust can win some big games. I feel like now more than ever, I’m comfortable playing in my own skin.”
