2026 4-star QB Helaman Casuga sets October commitment date

Four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga will announce his commitment on Oct. 17, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will choose between Texas A&M, Washington and USC.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Casuga is the starting quarterback for Corner Canyon — the No. 1 team in Utah and No. 23 high school football team in the country. He previously told On3 that he would announce his college decision on Oct. 8.

Earlier this month, Casuga’s list of finalists also included Arizona, Auburn, BYU, Nebraska and Utah.

“It’s more than just football,” Casuga said of what he is looking for in a school. “I’m looking for a family that makes it feel like home and somewhere that my family loves! Also where I can grow my education! And of course excel my football skills.”

Texas A&M is the current favorite to land Casuga, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). On3 Vice President of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction favoring the Aggies on Aug. 12.

He visited Texas A&M for the Aggies’ season opener.

“I’m not sure how to summarize my visit at Texas A&M except wow!” Casuga said at the time. “The entire College Station seriously shuts down and the energy the fan base brought was unbelievable. Having the legendary Johnny Menzel in the house added to the hype making it the most electrifying game day experience so far.

“Meeting with Coach Elko and (Collin) Klein was everything I expected,” Casuga said. “Top notch. My family means everything to me and having them with me was my highlight. Some of the things that stood out for them was how nice the people were especially the Aggie staff. I’n narrowing down my final decision. My family’s input will play a big part of the decision.”

Casuga is the nation’s No. 145 overall prospect, No. 14 quarterback and No. 4 recruit from Utah in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He ranks No. 252 overall in the 2026 On300.
